and while we have taken the kids on many flights, they have yet to experience jet lag. mike will have to take an ambien on the plane so he can be fresher when we arrive, plus he has to fly to london the next morning and needs to quickly be on european time for work.
i need to prepare the kids for this but am not exactly sure how. i need to get the point across that once we get on the plane they need to go to sleep as quickly as possible. wish me luck with that.
Melatonin is the trick...all natural and many business people also use it for jetlag. I myself am a terrible sleeper so use it to get to sleep and I cant keep my eyes open on it...wouldn't believe you can buy it from the healthfood shops!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all the last things!!
Lil, I was worried about this too and our kids did ok, even Genny. Once you get there, things are exciting so there's plenty of adrenaline. We definitely tried to maximize kid sleeping on the plane, which minimized adult sleeping, but whatever. We get coffee and they don't. They slept very late the next day. One thing that helped was one parent went to get breakfast and bring it back the first morning. They woke up hungry and really thirsty and it was nice not to have to drag everyone out. Have a great flight!
